Matthew Valeta - Master of Public Policy candidate, Goldman School of Public Policy

Matthew began to work on health care policy as a political science major at Colorado College. After graduating in 2012, he joined the Colorado Consumer Health Initiative (CCHI), a statewide, non-partisan, non-profit membership organization, in advocating and obtaining high-quality and equitable health care.  Matthew focused on establishing health insurance marketplace, monitoring and lobbying health care legislation, and advocating for lower health insurance premiums for individuals and small businesses. Currently, Matthew is working on projects such as pharmaceutical pricing and drug purchasing at the prestigious Goldman School of Public Policy (UC Berkeley).  

Topics include:

  • Affordable Care Act
  • Consumer Advocacy in Health Care
  • Prescription drugs: access and cost
  • What’s next with the new administration
